SQUARE – A Local Force at the Heart of Marievik

SQUARE is a finalist in the Local Coworking Space of the Year category at the Workaround Coworking Awards. In Marievik, SQUARE has quickly grown into a coworking space with a strong local presence, where work, community, and culture meet.

Behind the initiative is CEO and founder Marielle Fiedler, who sees the nomination as an important recognition of the work that happens every day.

It feels fantastic. We are incredibly proud to be finalists, and it motivates us even more to keep developing SQUARE.

A coworking space beyond the traditional office

From the very beginning, SQUARE’s ambition has been to create something more than a traditional office. By consciously working with environment, programming, and community, they aim to create the right conditions for both focus and meaningful human connections.

Here, it should feel just as natural to work in deep concentration as it is to meet others through shared activities.

We want to move beyond the traditional office feeling and create the right conditions for both productivity and community. Everyone who walks through the door should feel welcome and part of the community.

Strong local presence in Marievik

The local presence runs through the entire operation. In close collaboration with partners, local actors, and members, SQUARE actively contributes to the development of Marievik as a neighborhood.

This includes everything from cultural initiatives to open events that attract visitors from across Stockholm.

A year of milestones

Over the past year, SQUARE has reached several important milestones. Already during its first year of operation, the coworking space received the Rising Star of the Year award at the Workaround Coworking Awards.

At the same time, demand has continued to grow. Today, there is a waiting list for office rooms, and recurring external events attract around 200 visitors to Marievik every month.

We want more people from all over Stockholm to discover this area. Through more bold collaborations, more art, and experiences that can only happen here, we want to connect work, culture, and place.

Part of the future of work

For Marielle Fiedler, local coworking spaces are a natural part of the future of work — especially in growing neighborhoods.

The future of work is not about choosing between the office and the kitchen table. It’s about being able to work close to home in a professional and inspiring environment.

With SQUARE, Marievik continues to evolve into more than just a place to work — it becomes a local community.
