Beyond makes a double impact in Berlin: Two locations shortlisted for “Best New Launch”

In one of Europe’s most competitive coworking markets, beyond has made a confident and well-timed entry. In 2025, the brand launched two new locations in Berlin—on Heidestraße 34 and Chausseestraße 29—both of which have now been named finalists in the Best New Launch category at the very first Workaround Coworking Awards Berlin.

Launching two spaces simultaneously in a mature market like Berlin is a bold move. For beyond, the recognition as a double finalist feels particularly meaningful given the city’s long-established and highly competitive coworking scene.

Berlin is one of Europe’s most established and competitive coworking markets, so to be recognised in the very first Workaround Coworking Awards feels especially significant.

The nomination serves as a clear validation of the work behind beyond’s Berlin launch. Building on experience from Amsterdam and London, the team focused on creating spaces that were not only high-quality, but also purpose-built for the local market and its expectations.

Two locations, two distinct concepts

A key factor behind beyond’s double nomination is the deliberate contrast between its two Berlin locations. beyond Quartier Heidestraße is a large, purpose-built workspace designed to support modern teams with scale, privacy, and flexibility in mind. Located in an area with a strong and established coworking presence, the launch demanded a clear positioning and consistently high standards across every aspect of the experience.

beyond Chausseestraße, by contrast, offers a more intimate and character-led workspace in a central location. Rather than competing on size, it focuses on atmosphere, quality, and a calmer, more personal environment.

We believe we stood out by launching two very distinct and intentional spaces.

Together, the two locations reflect beyond’s broader strategy: combining thoughtful design, strong operations, and a hospitality-led service model that prioritises long-term relationships over short-term transactions.

A community-first vision

At the heart of the Berlin launch was a clear ambition to put community at the centre of the experience. In a city where coworking is already well established, beyond identified an opportunity to move beyond purely transactional models and instead focus on connection, belonging, and longevity.

The original vision was to create workspaces where community genuinely comes first.

Rather than forcing interaction, the aim has been to create environments—both physical and cultural—that naturally bring people together and support collaboration, growth, and meaningful relationships from the moment members walk through the door.

Early challenges and positive momentum

The first year of operation has come with its challenges, particularly when launching beyond Quartier Heidestraße in such a competitive area. Standing out required absolute clarity in positioning and a strong focus on delivering a consistent experience that reflects the beyond standard. At the same time, the response from the market has been a positive surprise, with many prospective members immediately recognising a difference in look, feel, and overall quality when entering the spaces.

The overall vibe across both locations can best be described as welcoming, considered, and quietly confident. The community forming within the spaces consists of teams and individuals who value quality, respect different ways of working, and appreciate an environment that supports growth—without loud or forced networking.

What’s next

Over the next 12 months, the focus will be on strengthening the community and continuing to refine the member experience across both Berlin locations. In parallel, beyond is laying the groundwork for further expansion across Germany, with cities such as Munich, Frankfurt, Hamburg, and Cologne firmly on the radar.

With its dual launch, beyond has added both scale and intimacy to Berlin’s coworking landscape. Being named a double finalist for Best New Launch suggests that this thoughtful, community-first approach is not only distinctive—but highly relevant in Berlin’s evolving coworking scene.
